A distinction is made between three types of Fused Silica:

  • Fused Silica rods made from undoped silica with a high OH content
  • Fused Silica rods made from undoped silica with a low OH content
  • special dopings, e.g. boron-doped (up to 20wt%) Fused Silica rods

Product properties

  • High homogeneity
  • Low geometric tolerances
  • Low OH content, if required

Ordering options

Fused Silica rods

  • Lengths between 300 and 1,100 mm
  • Diameters between 20 and 70 mm
  • Surface fire-polished or lapped

Boron rods

  • Lengths between 200 and 600 mm
  • Core diameter between 3 and 13 mm

  • Design and manufacture of preforms
  • Process-controlled manufacturing of high-power optical fibers
