AmbientFiber® is a radial-emitting illumination fiber with optimum design freedom for uniform lighting effects in product design or for ambient lighting. Simple to install and offering considerable freedom for product designers. It is characterized by its uniform emission of light at 360° across the entire length of the fiber – in contrast to a more punctiform LED illumination. The core of the optical fiber is Fused Silica, which works to prevent any discoloration effects or undesirable reactions to direct sunlight.

Our fiber optical switches are based on a patented micro-mechanical/micro-optical design. This guarantees excellent properties, comprehensive flexibility, and maximum long-term stability for many applications. The switches are available for a broad range of wavelengths from ultraviolet to infrared and support a wide range of fiber types. Our switches have been developed for applications with the most demanding requirements in telecommunications, for instrumentation and testing equipment, and in biomedicine. Based on an optical chip technology, the FiberSplit® product portfolio includes both standard components such as 1xN or 2xN splitters, and modules with complex functionality for fiber optical single- or multimode systems. FiberSplit® products guarantee expandability with maximum optical bandwidth and maximum bitrates as a result of ultra-low PDL/PMD. Our products meet Telcordia standards and have had zero outages in the field since 1996. We are also able to produce customer-specific chips, components, and modules, such as optical waveguide structures for wavelength ranges between 600 and 1,700 nm for singlemode components and from 450 nm to 2,000 nm for multimode components, with various waveguide characteristics and functions, including optical chips and fiber arrays.
