Square fiber
The new square core geometry has opened up an array of new applications in laser-based materials processing. When a beam with circular beam geometry is coupled into a fiber, the beam emanating from the other end shows a square and highly homogeneous beam profile. These fibers render favorable results in combination with diode lasers, as high coupling efficiencies are achieved.
Square fibers are available with core edge lengths between 70µm and 1,000µm and numerical apertures between 0.1 and 0.22. They are silicone-coated by default. Other coating materials are available upon request.
